I'll come up with something in a minute.

If some one could come over to the house with a sledgehammer or possibly a shovel and smash me right above the bridge of my nose and then one good smack across the side of the head, then I think the pressure might abate and this headache might go away.

I don’t think I’ve ever had headaches this bad or this prolonged. I get them in the summer, but they go away and come back in a cycle. This is one long continual attack on elves jamming ice picks in my brain. In a way it’s really quite fascinating to see how much pain my head can be in without say… going blind or loosing control of my motor functions.

Sound and light don’t seem to be affecting it one way or the other though, so that’s nice. I mean otherwise, I could hide under a blanket or shove cotton in my ears, and then I’d miss some of the fun. I would hate not to experience every second of this.

Speaking of paiunful fun…

The Philogelos, written in the 4th or 5th century CE by either Hierokles or Philagrios is be a collection of jokes, some of which are said to go back as far as the 2nd or 3rd century BCE. Here is a sample, so you know that this is a really old joke…
Talkative Barber: How shall I cut your hair today?
Customer: In silence!
